I've had the best terrible week ever :)
How is that possible you ask?
Let's break it down:
Monday: Well I was really really down this week because I've been struggling a little bit lately with my track performances. I've been putting a lot of pressure on myself lately and it was obviously starting to get out of control. It got so bad I even got hives :/ Not a good sign.
Then the SNOWPOCALYPSE hit.
{DUH DUH DUNNNN.}
Tuesday: No school [insert happy dance] buuuuut my car got snowed in our yard (we had 14 inches of the white fluffy stuff at my place) so I was stuck. Again no bueno. That meant I was trapped in my house with nothing to do AND I couldn't practice. I NEEDED TO PRACTICE! This didn't help my stress situation at all. Ug. depression (freaking out) depression.
Wednesday: Finally my car gets unstuck (thanks to my Daddy and brother) and I'm free!!!! I spend the day at MSU practicing and hanging with my team. They could tell I was stressed so we had a nice little girls night in and watched For Colored Girls which is one I really wanted to see for awhile. (side note: this happens to be a terribly sad and depressing movie which probably wasn't the best choice for the week seeing as I was already in the dumps) But during the movie some of my friends got trapped in the elevator which isn't funny but it did make me smile. They were fine.
(Meagan after practice. She's from California and this was her first snow experience...knee deep! What a trooper)
Thursday: still no school (hooray). and practice.
Friday: the big day. MEET day. I was a little nervous going in. First of all I wanted to do well and with the weather I was nervous about the drive. We planned on leaving around 12 before we left though I had to go get my things from the locker room and much to my surprise what did I find: only the best surprise ever!
Aren't they amazing. :) My teammates decorated my locker, surprised me with "power chocolate", pep talks and my very favorite a real 'scarlett' letter. :)
It was so comforting to see everything they wrote about me. I really snapped out of my grump-fest fast after that. I mean come on when you have a support system like I have how can you not smile? Everything they said really drove home. I may not be the best thrower on the team right now, I may be having an off week but that doesn't change the facts: I am "vital member of the team", "a leader", "born in the A raised in the A born to be a gangsta anyway", "the best color", "positive", and a "great friend". I just lost sight of that for a second. But now I'm back. Thanks for that guys. Love ya'll so much.
In conclusion: I'm in a little slump. BIG DEAL. I'm gonna be throwing farther than ever in no time.
(and that's a FACT. wait and see.)
GAAAH! i love you so much! I am so glad you are hiking your way back to the top :) you'll be on the mt peak in no time! xoxo.
